Kremer Family Yorkshires & Show Pigs

Kevin has been busy for the last several months working with the Erie County Sr. Fair Board and several partners to renovate the Jr. Fair Hog Barn.  The open-sided, wood constructed barn has a dirt floor and wooden pens for hogs.  It has also housed Llama and Alpaca exhibits.  More than 100 hogs are exhibited there in early August.  The Margaretta FFA Chapter had a very successful crop recently that yielded some extra funds to put towards getting the project off the ground.  Several community members and businesses have stepped forward to provide assistance with building materials including concrete floors.  Metal pens are being constructed to replace the old wooden gates. 

The building's foundation is being checked and repaired as needed.  Concrete is expected to be poured in June and cured in time for the metal pens to be delivered and installed in July.  The Erie County Fair in Sandusky, Ohio will be August 6-11, 2013.  If you are interested in being a sponsor, donations are being requested in the amount of $150.00 each (approximate cost of each pen).  Sponsors will be recognized on a plaque that will hang in the barn.  Checks for donations should be made out to Margaretta Young Farmers and mailed to Margaretta Young Farmers, c/o Kevin Kremer, 5137 US Route 6, Vickery, OH 43464.  We'll try to post some pictures of the progress this summer.
